As a Landscape Architect, you will play a role in advising, planning, and designing the construction of various landscapes, including public urban, residential, and rural areas. Your responsibilities focus on designing outside areas, parks, hospitals, schools, and locations for buildings, walkways, and roadways. You will collaborate closely with clients to determine the proposed use of space and monitor project progress. Additionally, you may focus on preserving and restoring historic landscapes and developing plans to manage stormwater runoff. The ideal candidate will have a passion for designing open spaces, possess strong environmental awareness, and demonstrate excellent drawing skills with an eye for detail.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and design landscapes for various settings, including urban, residential, rural, and commercial areas.
- Prepare concepts, design development and graphic illustrations under direct supervision.
- Work with senior landscape architects to compile data and prepare design solutions.
- Work closely with surveyors, architects, civil engineers, and other professionals to coordinate project requirements.
- Prepare and present design proposals and reports to clients for approval.
- Participate in design meetings.
- Preserve and restore historic landscapes, if applicable.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture, or related field.
- Experience in urban design, landscape architecture, architecture, or park design.
- AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and have experience with 3D computer graphics software.
- Creativity and innovation in designing outdoor spaces.
- Knowledge of environmental principles and regulations.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
