Building connections – through reconstruction and public involvement.

Expanding 0.6 miles of Meadowbrook Road as part of the Waukesha Bypass project would undoubtedly impact a high concentration of residents and property owners. Likewise, the quality of the reconstruction was no doubt going to be affected by the firm chosen to lead it – hence Kapur’s selection.

But before the two-lane rural roadway could start providing access south from I-94 to the Rolling Ridge Drive (US 318) connection to the bypass (US 18), Kapur had to implement geometric reconfigurations, multi-stage traffic control plans, sidewalk improvements, and - governed by the WisDOT Facilities Development Process – pavement replacement, stormwater management techniques, and complex staging.

While Kapur’s work speaks for itself, to ensure those impacted understood the positive ramifications of the project, extensive public involvement was conducted to keep everyone informed of details regarding design, plans, schedules, traffic routes, and property access during construction.
